Roy Phay Weekend Rambling
12 August 2008 5:16 pm Weekend RamblingToday was an amazing weekend personally for me… We had planned to go to one of our friend’s house to do some food tasting, and after that to my grandma’s place for dinner.
So, you know that this Saturday was a pretty heavy day for my stomach. You bet it is!
One thing I must let you know what food we are going to taste at my friend’s place first. It’s so unique and uncommon and out of this world, that I told her…
I must blog about it and share what you(my friend) know to the world and my subscribers, and that’s you.
Ok, let me introduce her officially, her name is Linda Loo. If you Google her, you will start to see her having her very own site and start to build a presence online.
Her website is here… www.RawFoodLifestyles.com
I’m sure you might have guess what am I going to food taste today… Yes! Raw Food!
First, I must clarify, I don’t think I can put anything that’s animal in my mouth and it’s raw. So the raw food here is in line which what I totally envision in my life…
Healthy, Good Food!
So, no way that by putting animals in my mouth, be it raw or cooked, going to make me healthy.
Then, there’s left with only fruits and vegetables. With that, I can already hear some of you going, “YUCKS!”
Fruits and vegetables? How to eat raw?
Actually, you can and it’s very good. I have been reading a lot about been a vegetarian, or some other called it vegan.
I did, at one point of my life for 2 full years. No meat for me, just fruits and vegetables. However, due to the asian cuisine and amazing good, but unhealthy food in Singapore…
Even vegetarian food can be pretty unhealthy.
So after meeting my friend, Linda Loo, I got a fresh breath of new air. I came to know about raw food and how much it can do to your body, energy and most importantly, health!
It was only until I read about her 3D2N Detox Guidebook that I decided to give myself 3 days of only fruits and vegetables.
Due to poor coordination, I didn’t manage to do the 3 days programs… what I have is only eating fruits and vegetables from 10am till 6pm for 1 single day. And that alone, I can feel more energy, clearer mind and feel better.
The only down side is that I feel hungry almost every single hour!
I’m really excited to go to her house, as she invited us, to taste Raw Food Gourmet. My wife went along too, not only that, she’s in her 3rd trimester of her pregnancy now…
and food is very particular for her, and she gets hungry very easily.
She decided that she’s going to have a bowl of porridge first before she pop by later, as she’s really not into the vege and fruits stuff, and at times… she would think I have gone out of my mind.
So much of talking… here’s one of the first dish we got.

Guess what is it…? It’s pasta, in tomato sauce.
The first impression looks good. And of course trusting Linda, which is huge, I decided to put this raw pasta in raw tomato sauce into my mouth.
Here’s what happened in less than 3 minutes…

Note how clean the plate is, even with the tomato sauce all over it. I literally licking the plate as I’m going to finish it.
It’s so tasty! It’s beyond words!
Personally, I feel that for good food, needs to fulfill 3 aspect of it. Taste, Smell and Presentations!
Next we have this…
Look at all our expressions on our face.
I guess that’s explained a lot of how good the food is… I can tell you… it’s really really good!
Next, check out this photo, where we got more food, like the smoothies…
Then we still have the dessert range… where there’s Singapore style, Oneh Oneh, chocolate cake(look at my friend, Andy’s hand…), and peanut butter cake… all in raw food! Amazing right?
With that, the final photo I want to show you how fresh all our ingredient are…
Yes! The leaf that you see stuff in between the mushroom are taken from this plant. I’m amazed too!
Last thing, our friend, Linda told us, the best of all the ingredients is to get organic fruits and vegetables. And they can be at least 3 times to 10 times more than the regular price of fruits and vegetables found in the market.
I’m totally grateful, thankful for the meal and wonderful warm welcome from my friend, Linda Loo.
I’m sure her business will continue to grow, and I look forward to more food tasting session from her…
Haha!
