Need your opinion on my new Runescape Salesletter
9 October 2007 8:30 am Internet Marketing StrategyHey friends,
Thanks for coming back to my blog and I would need your opinion for this blog post. As you might know that I’m having a product in the online games, Runescape niche. My target group are kids of about 8 - 16 years old, who love to play Runescape.
The main challenge is that they do not have the buying power to buy my guide, they would need to persuade their parents to do so. With that, not only do my salesletter have to let the kids see the value of my guide, but also to their parents too. You probably know that there’s a lot of ’scam’ in these online games industry, where marketers just put up a guide and start selling cheap. I personally do not like this model.
With that, I have surround myself with my story and my purpose on creating my own strategy guidebook. I have just finished the salesletter, and wish to hear some honest feedbacks and opinion from you.
So, it would be good to give based on the following:
1) Position yourself as a parents with your kids crazy about Runescape, would you buy this guidebook from this website? Do you trust it? Imagine that you do not know Roy Phay at all. Haha…
2) If you have young kids or nephew whose crazy about Runescape, I would be excited to hear about their opinion on the website and if it catches their attention and interest.
Here’s my salesletter: (I will give you the direct link so that you do not have to optin)

Lastly, I would like to thank you for taking the time to read, and post your honest comments on this blog post. Thanks!

Hi Roy,
Seriously, I am not that familiar with RunEscape. That’s why after I read your post, I quickly Google the keyword and guess what, I found 17,500,000 sites! Now I know it is really a worth market to be invested in.
I have read thru your salesletter and basically, I think you should offer some OptIn and in return, you offer them some special report on some useful tips, just briefly but not in detail. With this special report, then they will consider wheter it is worth buying your product or not.
Just a little opinion. Thanks.

Sit Wai

Thanks for your comments Sit Wai. If you go to my main URL, you will see an optin page offering my first 7 secrets free to anyone who optin. Kids love that.
The salesletter is just the direct access that I gave you, so that you do not have to optin.
Thanks for your comments. How do you feel after reading the salesletter?
Cheers,
Roy

hi roy
OK, straight to the point, what struck me first. No holds barred, my apologies if I offend you
Being a perfectionist for spelling and grammer, i noticed quite a number of errors which i would not be happy to read about
So as a parent, I might be affected by this.
i don’t normally like long sales letter, so maybe u can incorporate Video Testimonies (for visual/audio/kinesthetic) effect and also audio (if u can’t get access to them via video)
Maybe u could incorprate some links midway to bring u down direct to the buy section for impatient people like me
Do check out http://www.freekeywords.wordtracker.com/gtrends/
to see what kind of specific keywords which ppl search on within Runescape would in turn mean more traffic to your site and then buy. Go deeper and see which keywords have less competition (100)
The challenge like u said is really getting the children “brave” enough to approach their parents to buy for them. How are you going to do that?
I like the colour scheme, layout and yr virtual office address
Gives more confidence perhaps!
cheers

Hey Andy,
First thing first, I’ll not be offended by your comments. If I were to be, then I would rather pay someone to write good things about it…
and not ask fellow friends and marketers to comment on it.
I will definately take note on the grammer and spelling. And good views on the video and audio. That’s one of the big challenge too…
to get kids to even give testimonials. Most will not want to give even photos, and audio and video is way too much challenge for them.
Imagine a lot of adult marketers do not even how to use audio and video.
Good point on the overcoming challenges on getting parents to buy for kids. I have come out with a marketing plan on that, working on it.
Lastly, thanks for your valuable comments…
Hey guys, keep them coming.
