After that, all I can hear is the beating of my heart, and my voice saying… “Wow! What a pity… a passing on of one of the greatest leader in personal development!”

But, another voice said to me, “No! It’s not really a pity… as I had listened to him spoke in person, and used it in my life! That is what I would think he would want me to think and to be…”

But if you notice how, “The Secret”, talks about Law of Attraction, by creating a vision board is manifesting your dream or goal in your mind and attract it from the universe…

You’ll start to see how does that help in giving you an extra booster in helping you to start an internet business.

Personally, I have been creating vision board for the past 6 years, way before “The Secret” took the entire planet by storm. As mentioned, it’s a secret that have been pass down centuries…

and I’m one of the lucky few who is taught about the law of attraction, how to use the sub-conscious mind to work for you and get the results faster.

I strongly believe my successes today, one of the main contributing factor, comes from creating a vision board. Even though I seldom talks about it, as most people feel it might not tied into…

making money online, internet marketing or starting your internet business.

Since I feel it’s something that have helped me accelerate my success over the years, I want to share that with you so you too can have that extra “rocket booster” to reach your destination.

So what is a vision board?

A vision board or a dream board is, “Your Goal or Dream on Paper”. That’s my definition.

Why is that so?

Simple! How it works is simply by putting your dream, all that you desire, what you like to achieve, and put it on a big board, with pictures, words, beautiful photos…

and with that, you’ll be creating a beautiful picture imagery of how your goal or dream will look like.

For example, usually, I would do it in 3 years or 5 years goal. So, I will ask myself, what’s my goal in 3 years time, or 5 years time?

What I’ll do is I’ll write it down, put it on paper, and list down all the items that I want…

and with the items that I want, I’ll start looking at magazines, search on internet, posters, or even take an actual photo shoot of the items.

So, what do I mean by items?

3 years ago… here’s a snapshot of some of my items that I wanted.

- On 30th Dec 2008, I want…
1) A Web Development and Online Business that’s giving me passive income, $________, and does 6 figures, $________, in 2008.

2) Home-based business where myself and my wife could enjoy, have our first baby, and have ample time for my new-born.

3) An Ivory Toyota 1.6 Altis Corolla, where we could drive around with my new-born.

4) and many more…

For that 3 items that I listed, for now, I have the first two coming true. And for the 3rd one, I choose not to buy one now, as we have slightly shift my goals.

Here’s a few things you want to take note when you write your items:

1) Be very specific. For example, An Ivory Toyota 1.6 Altis Corolla is more specific than “I want a car”. In this instance, you want to know the model, color, or even go for a test drive on that.

2) Have a dateline. Always have a dateline on all your goals and dreams.

3) Focus on positive affirmation. Let say you want to lose weight. Rather than saying, “I do not want to gain another 15 kg, and I’ll exercise to do that.” What your mind will ONLY see is, “I want to gain 15kg”.

So, you would want to change to, “I want to weight 45 kg after 90 days of exercise.”

4) Think of possibilities. When I first created my vision board, I keep asking myself, “Is this possible?” Starting an internet business, and make 6 figures out of it… come on, who am I kidding?

STOP!

You would want to stop your mind from giving you the limitations. Think of the possibilities, and think of what you really desire to achieve and just write it down.

After you have written down all your items, next is my favorite part:

Gather all your materials, photos and etc to create your dream board…

Give yourself a dateline and a time frame to work on getting all the materials and photos. Why?

Because if you don’t, you’ll never get to see the work done!

I used to put it up in a board in my bedroom, so that I can see it before I go to sleep and after I wake up each morning.

Now I have it on my desktop as a screen saver, and each time I take a 10 minutes rest, it will start showing.

So, do you want to see some of my new vision board for the next few years?

Okay, I’ll show you a few of my current ones.

I love cars, as I’m sure you can tell. So, I’m looking to have 2 cars for the next 5 years. The first one, of course, I will get is Lexus IS250. That’s what I’m looking for now, unless I change again.

I just went for a test-drive last Friday, with my good friend, and I totally love the car. So, this time I have decided on this model.

The next one, as you can see is Porsche Boxster. I love the yellow one, that’s why you can see me taking a photo with it.

Haha… in fact, if you look closely, that’s not a real photo of me with the yellow Porsche. The photo was taken from the internet, I add myself into the picture and look into the background…

you’ll see my company, SUNNET, logo on it. This one, I’m telling my sub-conscious mind this is what I want to see in 5 years time.

I really wish after reading this long post on a Monday work day for you, will give you new insights and inspiration to start creating your vision board.

Are you passionate about your work? Are you passionate to start an internet business? That’s what I’m going to talk about today…

So, today, let’s talk about Passion!

When you go to work this morning, on Monday morning, do you jump off the bed, get excited, drive to work and says, “Today is a great day! And I’m ready to take on new challenges…”

Or

This is what you do… you struggle to get off bed, you drag yourself to the bathroom, and put on your business suits, and sleep drive to work, and sit on your desk and says,

“Sigh… today is only Monday, I still have 5 more days to weekends.”

Personally, for me to work at home, start an internet business, is my passion. In fact, I worked even harder on my own internet business than I ever worked before in my entire life.

Just over the weekends, both myself and my wife, shut ourself in our own bedroom, on the air-con (it’s so HOT in Singapore these few weeks), and work at least another 26 hours on Saturday and Sunday.

Why?

Simple! We are so passionate about our work, and at the same time, we are rushing to launch a site this coming week…. and you bet, we are excited over it.

And each time we launch a new site, to us, a ‘baby’ is born, and we anxious to see what’s the results of it?

Of course, at the same time, we are excited at how much more money we will be making too.

So, since today is a brand new week, and brand new Monday, if you are still reading this…

Ask yourself this question, “What am I passionate about?”

After you answered that questions, here’s the 2nd question.

“If I won a Million dollar lottery tomorrow, would I do what I’m passionate about?”

If your answer is truly definite, “YES!”

It shows that you are on the right path.

So, this question, “Do YOU believe you can start a home based business on the internet?” is a very important question for you today…

On my journey of wanting to be financial independent, I have many friends, partners who follow me along. All of us are being “attracted” by the idea of financial independent, passive income, money working hard for us.

However, as times went by, obstacles set in and life challenges comes in, many of my friends, partners have given up that idea now. I have even seen some of them goes back to their job, which is what they “hated” most.

After so many years, and seeing so many of them, I asked myself… “What happened? Why do some people make it and most do not?”

This is what I found, and my personal observation…

80% of anyone’s success today, be it, if you want to learn a new skill, you want to make money on the internet, making money at home, be financially free, get promotion in your job, be rich and wealthy…

It all boils down to one thing that takes up that 80%. And that’s your Mindset.

If your belief today is telling you that, “Making Money at Home is NOT easily, It’s not possible to make money on the internet, those talking about making money online are ’selling’ the products…

…and that’s what make them money…” Haha… so you can tell where you will be heading to, right?

But what if your belief is, “There are so many people making money online, let me find out how do they do it. Why not let me choose one or two person who have been making money online to learn from them”

Do you think if the latter belief serve you better or will leads you to “doomsday”?

I’m not here to decide for you, you are to decide for yourself. There’s no way I can “change” your belief or mindset for you, it’s totally up to you, because you have 100% control of yourself, not me.

Bill was a smart and amazing person, he built Learning Annex from just a $5,000 company to a 100 Millions company this year. He took over 20 years to do that. And he give credits to one of his biggest breakthrough in life, that’s to meet Donald Trump and working closely with him now.

I totally love this book and all about Donald Trump! His branding, his visions, his mindset and his beliefs in life and in business. There are some that’s way over my head and I might and hopefully will not experience it, but I still appreciate the insights and what to expect when building a multi-billion corporations.

Do you think I will read this again? You bet! It will be one of my life-changing books of my life. And if there’s a audio series on it, it will definately be on my upcoming 160GB iPod and headphones on my ears 24/7.

Even if you’re not going to build a multi-billion company like Donald, I still encourage you to get this book. There’s many gems of wisdom that we can learn, and use just 1% of it, to build a multi-million company successfully.

I’m crazy about Robert’s concept starting 2001, and have a whole library, collections of all his books, audios and also the famous board game, Cashflow 101. Talking about that, we are going to have our regular session of the game with all my close friends next weekend.

I’m so overwhelmed by this weekend, because T Harv Eker is in town. He’s really a great man, as I have spoke to him personally during the Millionaire Party back in Aug.

We will be attending his 3 full days seminar in Singapore, where I’m really excited to receive wealth of information from him. Not only that, the principles that he taught in his best selling book is already an eye-opening. I’m very excited to be able to learn from him for the upcoming 3 days seminar.

To me personally, UYMG have been a great event. Everytime I attend this event, after that, it would have opened my mind and increase my income online. And this have always been the case ever since I have met Stephen 18 months ago. I have heard both good reviews and not so good reviews of UYMG Malaysia. I would say, at the end of the day, it’s up to individual expectations.

From my comments, I have people commenting that it did not meet their expectations, and that it’s over-promise, under-delivered. I have personally met people in the crowd that totally love the 4 days, and have created great networks, and even JV to work together.

And this is always the same whichever seminar that I personally went too, there’s this 2 group of people. This is why I have posted my first post of how I would prepare myself when I go to UYMG, and how I would prepare my mindset. Mindset is the single most important critical points that we need to succeed, and I truly believe it to be so.

I think I can go talking and writing another 2,000 words in this post and I will never finish sharing what I think about mindset. I will not do that.

Mike did an awesome presentation of how he first started on the internet, way before he become famous online. And that was when at the same time, he was working as a general manager in a car dealer full-time job. Up till a point, his boss found out that his moonlighting and he’s getting a lot of attention from his fellow friends in his work. So much so until this day, that his boss ‘corner’ him into making a decision whether to give up his Internet Business or he have to quit his job…

You probably intelligent to know that he make the right of quiting his job on the spot, and his life is never the same again. And after 1.5 years later, he launch Butterfly Marketing, follow by up till recently his latest launch of 7 figure code. If you are in Mike’s list, you might have heard that he’s not going to speak again. He’s going to retire from his speaking career. He’s did talked about that on stage too, and UYMG Malaysia is his 2nd last speaking.

At the same time, he talks about his profit map and what’s his blueprint of creating a profitable online business. It had been an amazing journey ever since I met Stephen, from making no money on the internet, to making a residual constant stream of income online. I was excited and full of zeal every single day. From what I heard, many top marketers will be speaking at the event too, including Mike Filsaime, Patric Chan and many others…

…so, I was all set!

Just to share further more on how I would prepare myself for a seminar, any seminar… be it, Internet Marketing Seminar, Stock Investment Seminar, Breakthrough Seminar and etc.

I have been attending seminar and devour myself into personal development stuffs for almost 6 years now. I have met and known hundreds of friends, every now and then, attending seminars after seminars. Till today, I only kept in touch with a few whom I can really connect with and share what we learn at the seminars.

To me, preparation takes up 80% of any seminars that you are going to attend! If you are not prepared, or do not have the ready mindset, then frankly speaking, I would keep the money and the time watching TV at home.

That’s why, statistic shows that only 3% – 20% of the people really absorb what the speakers is really talking about in Seminar, and why only 3% will only be successful after that. That’s when the 3% take action right after that! And that’s to me, is the 20% secret to success in attending seminar.

I’m no expert here! However, with experiences of spending at least 5 figures every year, after year, on seminars, I do have my own secrets on how I prepare myself to attend seminars.

Firstly…

I would always have an “empty cup mindset”. To me, “empty cup mindset”, at the same time, means be humble and willing to learn. Just like the next 4 days of UYMG, it is my 2nd time attending it. In fact, the first time when it was held in Singapore in Mar 07, I was both a student and a speaker at the same time too. With that experience in mind, some of my friends will ask me, “Roy, then why waste your time attending the same old thing again? Further more, it’s now in Malaysia, and you got to pay more to listen to the same old stuff for 4 days!”

Personally, that’s why the first thing I always tell myself, is to have an “empty cup mindset’. That is NOT to say to forget or throw away what I learn back in Mar 07. But it is to look at things at a much different perceptive or angle. I was used this example to share:

If today, you have a full cup mindset, walking into a seminar, “How much more water (knowledge) can the speaker pour into your mind?”

Secondly, I would always set goals before I walked into that seminar room. I would ask myself, what exactly am I looking for in the seminar? I would write a list of 3 -5 things that I want to focus on during that seminar period. With the list of things, I know that I’m focus, I’m very sure of what I’m looking for, and my mind will start search for it, and law of attraction will does it work!

Thirdly, I would always take notes in the seminar. Some speaker would want you to listen and NOT take notes, some would want. So, depends on the speaker and the kind of seminar you are attending too. For the next 4 days, you can bet 100% that I will walk out with stacks of notes in my bag. And they will be colorful notes, which means they will be in multiple colors, drawings and etc.

Yes, if you know what I’m talking about, I love to MindMap! In fact, I love it so much that I’m getting a pretty good skills of mind-mapping when the speaker is speaking. If not, I would take notes and head to the hotel and mind map what I learn that day. That’s, to me, is the best way to learn!

So, after hearing from me sharing about my experience, I would love to hear your comments on how would you approach attending a seminar.
