I know you’ll know the first one, T Harv Eker. I’ll keep the 2nd one a mystery and reveal towards the end of it.

Personally, as a marketer, I know how hard is it to learn to be a great copywriter. Not only that, it’s even harder to teach copy writing. So far, the only 2 copy writing material that I ever went through are Joe Vitale, and John Carlton.

I love both of them and learn from heaps from both of them by just reading their materials.

So, I was really wondering how would Harv teach such a complicated subject. But guess what…

The strength of Harv teaching is that he systemize all the complicated stuffs, all the “noise”, and the flurry airy thing and bring us down to the basic and fundamental.

If you have reading my blog post, you would notice that’s what I always emphasis. Set your foundation and fundamental right, and you can try the fanciful stuff later.

But what most new internet marketers does?

They want the latest product, latest strategy, latest get rich quick methods to make money online.

For that, I almost guarantee that NOT only will you not make money, you’ll end up feeling frustrated and that’s when you’ll give up a gold mine.

So, back to Harv’s copywriting secrets today…

It’s amazing! Harv really is the master! He actually systemize everything into a step-by-step approach that after 3 hours into the session. I would dare to say that 98% of the audience will be a good copywriter.

And if they practice it, they can be a great copywriter within very short period of time.

Why?

Because the foundations was set right!

Let me share with you the structure of a good copy that Harv gave us.

Just know that this is the structure, and in each points of the structure, it’s How you make full use of each point, and maximize the greatest potential of it.

Almost all copy have the same structure, but what makes yours stand out and grab your customers and get them to buy, that would be the winning copy.

First Point is Headlines.

It’s the most important, and it give the first impression to your visitors, and it must capture attention in 2 sec, if not, you ad would consider fail.

It’s actually contribute to 80% success of the copy itself. So, a few top copywriter I know would always emphasis to spend the most time on then headlines than all the rest of the copy.

So, that’s really important!

After the headlines will be the opening. For the opening, Harv’s method is to use the problem solution method.

What do I mean?

Give the problem to your prospect first, give them pain, after giving them pain, then you give them the solutions to see the contrast.

With that, they can feel the contrast in both.

Next is to build Creditials, this is where you’ll put your proof, and a simple question to answer that is, Why should I listen to you?

Next is the Story. I love this saying, “Facts Tell, Story Sells!” And Yes, Story sell.

Next is Feature To Benefit. You must understand what is the difference between a feature and a benefit. Only by knowing the difference, then can you pull out all the benefits from the features of the products or services.

One of the important point of benefit is that it MUST Appeal to Emotions. It must move the person’s, the way he feels.

Creating Massive Value is next! Harv says this, “A good price is NOT good enough, A great price compare to Massive Value makes everything.

After setting the massive value stage, next is to give a reason why.

Human beings do things based on reasons, and if you have strong enough why that moves your prospect, they will buy from you.

Now is the time to state your value price. What is value price?

That’s the difference from the actual price you going to offer. For example, what you could is state the actual value of your product, say, it worth, “This product is worth US$97, but because this is a introductory launch of this product, so I’m giving you a deep discount of only $17.

You must always mention comparisison!

Next is to give Bonus! That would create even more value for your product itself.

Can you see what’s missing and coming up next…?

If you guess testimonial, you are right.

Yes! We need testimonial on the copy, the more the merrier. It just shows that your product is popular. Most importantly, it’s to have a powerful testimonial.

Lastly, it’s the call to action!

What good would it be, if after spending 1 hour reading your copy, at the end is blank. No contact, no call to action and that’s it. It’s silly to do that.

However, that’s what most of the 80% will do. And since this is not the 80% group, so while reading this, I assume you”ll always remember your call to action.

That’s really a quick glimpse of what we learn in 3 hours. I would say that’s only 10% of what I’m sharing here.

Next the mystery person I want to introduce to you here is Alex Mandossian.

I have met Alex back in 2005, when he first came to Singapore to do an Internet Marketing Seminar. That was my first internet marketing seminar back then.

I still remember “trying” to understand optin, list, ftp and all the etc.

On top of that, I even invest in continuing education with Alex then.

I would say that Alex is the one that helps us to kick-start our web design business. Starting from 2005, where we are struggling, till making over S$100,000 in 2007 alone.

Not only that, I learn some very key fundamental skills that once apply to my clients and myself, get great results.

However, as each day finishes, the message is getting clearer and clearer and I’m getting more and more energetic.

Before the seminar starts, the trainer was saying, “I should have attended this seminar 20 years ago”. And Harv says, if I would attend this seminar 20 years ago, I would be a millionaires many many many times over than now.

In a few simple words, I think he’s a very powerful person, with lots of wisdom, specialized knowledge and he’s the expert of the experts in his field.

Not only that, he’s a teacher to many many other great business man, marketers, speakers, authors and fortune 100 companies.

Some of the names that you might know are, Harv Eker himself, Jack Canfield (Chicken Soup for the Soul), Jay Abraham and Steven Covey(The 7 Habits of Highly Effective people).

I’m truly very blessed to have ever, in my lifetime, able to listen to him at least once! I’m really thankful for that, and I look forward to listen to him every single day.

So, who exactly is the gentleman?

As I mention, he’s really low profile, so you might or most likely never heard of him before.

He’s Joe Roberts, a communication specialized.

He’s the former prime time talk show host on KABC Radio, Los Angelas – The LARGEST and also the radio capital of the world.

Now that I took some time to introduce him to you, so that you have a good idea…

Let me talk about what I learn from him, I’m sure you’ll be more excited to hear that.

Right?

For the entire session, over 2 days, a total of about 7 hours, he talks about…

“The Language of Impact”

Personally, to me, his main message is that, in today’s world…

Every human being is at least bombarded with over 300,000 times of advertisement every single day!

Now, think about it, from TV, radio, road signs, billboard, bus stop signs, train signs, and etc… the list goes on.

Most importantly, because of that, we human beings are so IMMUNE to all these advertisements…

RIGHT?

Not only that, the attention life-span of everyone is getting shorter and shorter and shorter.

Television commercials used to work well in 30 second block. Today, if you see a TV commercial, newspaper ads, and all advertising media and if it does not grab you in 3 seconds, the ads have fail.

So, that’s the reality!

And the even bigger reality is, companies and businesses are still using the “common sense” method of advertising and wondering why are they not getting results for it.

In his 7 hours session, we have tons of fun, laughter and definately learning. As I mentioned, he have lots of wisdom, and he talks a lot of profound concepts…

So, what most people give, including myself?

We will state the SOLUTION we are solving for our clients.

That’s great! But does that really able to do the job of cutting through the clutter and grab your customer by the throat?

I don’t think so!

Let me ask you another question, “what comes before every solution?”

If you answer, PROBLEM! You’re smart!

Yes! That’s the correct answer! Before every solution is a problem. And why are you in business and what makes your business continue to be profitable?

Solving Problems to your customer!

Imagine if today the business you are in, it no more solve the problem to your customer, do you think you still have a business?

I would say a BIG NO!

For example, if the World Wide Web is down for any reason tomorrow, and we are back to Stone age, and the basic.

Do you think I still can survive with my website development and marketing business?

You bet!

But what do we always do, including myself, sell the solution to our customers… not even knowing if they got the problem.

So, if there’s one tip that you want to take away after reading this, is…

Think of the problem that your business is solving. State the problem upfront to your customers. And then state your solutions to your customer. I would strongly believe that…

you’ll see a huge increase in your business sales or revenue!

Why?

Simple, you are giving a reason for the customers to buy from you.

Think about that!

For all those that I have write and you have read, I would say it’s only the tip of the ice-berg of his 7 hours session.

There are many many different levels and layers in his entire message. I would say this is only the very first layers.

Why…?

Because it solved a big problem in my business.

There are 2 main parts to the seminar today, business negotiation in the first half and 4 Ultimate Marketing Strategy in the second half.

Of course, I cannot talk about all contents in the seminar, what I can sharing is my very personal learning I got from the seminar and most importantly…

How does that able to help you solve your business problem?

Make sense?

Great! I’ll share about Negotiation part, which totally changed my perceptive about negotiation, and how I will do negotiation in the future.

There are a total of 16 Negotiation Tactics… however, I’ll only share with you 3 of my favorite.

Before we jump into that, let’s lay some foundations…

Today, if you think about the word negotiation, especially business negotiation, what would come to your mind?

Tough decisions, mean situations, cut corners, unhappy, unfair, “squeeze” other people and etc.

Right?

I don’t know about you, but those are mine.

So, one very IMPORTANT perceptive I learn about negotiation from Harv is WIN – WIN.

To be a master negotiation, it must be a win win deal. The other party is happy with what they got, and I’m happy with what I got.

So, all the 16 tactics that we are taught are only meant to be win win.

Okay, let jump to the first one!

#1 – ASK

Yes! It’s that simple! Just ask, and you shall receive!

How many times in your life that you wish that you have ask for something that you know you should ask, but didn’t?

Most importantly, the way that you ask is very important.

For example, if you are buying something, and you like to ask for an discount. Let me ask you, “Which one do you think works better?”

“HEY YOU, GIVE ME 20% Discount on that product!!”

Or

“Excuse me, shop owner, I love this diamond ring that I’m buying for my girlfriend who I’m proposing to. She love this diamond ring and it’s her dream diamond ring she being wanting all her life.

But, I cannot fulfill the budget that you have on the price tag, is there anywhere you could lower the price or give me at least a 20% discount on that?”

Of course the second one right!

The first one is not asking, it’s more like demanding. How many times do you like to help someone who’s kind, friendly, and have a good-heart, than a mean and demanding person?

Every time right?

So ask whenever you can, and if you observe the second method carefully, it also includes a very strong PURPOSE why you need the discount, and also ask in a very friendly way.

Got it?

#2 – Don’t Go First!

It simply means let the other person go first, don’t kill yourself. I’ll explain more.

For example, usually salesperson would ask this common question, “What’s your budget?”

And the buyer would say, “Mmmm… $600?”

And the salesperson would then negotiation the price and etc…

To be a master buyer negotiator in this case… here’s what I will answer.

“What’s the least that you can leave with and be happy about it?”

Notice how the question is being structure.

Firstly, it’s a question, which means you throw back the ball to the other person’s court.

Secondly, the keywords here is “THE LEAST” and “BE HAPPY” with it?

Usually this work out perfectly, and most people would give you the answer.

Most importantly, his answer can be pretty surprising. Maybe it can be much lower than you thought his willing to part. If you are willing to buy at $600, maybe his willing to sell at $300…

So, my way of putting is, “Whoever show the cards first, loses… because I know what’s your bottom line…”

I love this tactics, it’s going to save me lots of thousands of dollars in my business and in my daily life.

#3 – Know Your Objective

I’m sharing this not only it’s one of my favorite, it’s also one of the easy one to write about it.

When you negotiate a price or ask about a discount, always know your objective…

Know what’s your target price?

Let say, the item is selling for $2,000, and you’re only willing to buy at $1,500.

So, I would tell my story, give the seller a very strong reason WHY, and I would ask for,

“Do you think I can get it for… say… $1,250?”

Notice the dollar amount. I actually say the price much lower. WHY?

Because usually, the seller would negotiate upwards and if you are good, you’ll be able to get it at $1,500.

I love this one too.

The best part of the entire Guerrilla Negotiation Tactics portion is NOT learning it…

It’s DOING IT!

During lunch, we were given 2 hours to let loose into all parts of Singapore, and practice what we learn.

Nothing is as powerful to practice and use exactly what we learn. We break into team, and drive in cars to other parts of Singapore and shopping mall and start practicing it.

To cut long story short…

The first deal is have lunch at a cafe. We ask for free desert after our ala cart order. The waiter was telling us that, “I have worked here for very long and I have not given away any free desert away before on ala cart order, ever!”

But guess what, we got 2 free desert out of 5 person.

We were so happy and jumping with joy!

The most powerful part is that, after we leave, the waiter who’s at first pretty upset or feeling puzzled, what’s these guys doing, trying to get cheap meals, was…

Smiling and thanking us and waving goodbye to us!

How we do it?

Haha…

Attend the seminar yourself and experience it yourself!

High Revenue
High Profit
High Cashflow
Low Expense

If you are in business now, you can definitely relate to it.

Does revenue equal to profit?

NO!

Most business people, or internet marketer, would say they make $300,000 a year, or $30,000 per month.

However, if I got a chance, I would always ask this question, what’s your expenses in the business?

Only by knowing that number, I would able to know the net profit of it.

And that’s very very important, because that’s the money that’s putting into my pocket.

Make sense?

So, if you see a product launch of a system that shows you making US$30,000 per month, and one of the strategies is using Adwords or PPC to drive traffic…

Find out how much he’s paying for the PPC or Adwords ads in that month?

It can be US$5,000, US$25,000 or even US$35,000.

Yes! You can make a lost in that.

All the 3 of them are my favorite and I’m going to spend some time sharing each and everyone what I have learn. So, this is going to be a pretty long post ever, but rest assured the journey will be great… are you ready?

The first speaker of the day is Joel Christopher. He’s well-known as the MasterListBuilder. He strongly believes that “Your Money is In Your List”, and “Your List is Your GoldMine!” I totally agree with him.

That’s why I’m actively building my list for the niche on “Making Money Online”. And I will post my results and also how I do it, shortly in a few weeks time.

Joel have a 3 steps system which I totally love. It’s so simple that a 6-years old could use it and make money. That’s what I called Useable system. And that’s what you’ll learn from me in my series of tips, strategies and secrets of making money online. Simple, Step-by-Step System…

Here’s Joel 3 steps system:

1) Connect
2) Collect
3) Convert

#1 – Connect

The first one is to Connect with your visitors. When your visitors comes to your site, you want to be able to connect with them. This part, he also mentioned the key to making money online, which is market research.

I personally use this tool called www.NicheBotClassic.com. He recommends www.Wordtracker.com and also www.Google.com/trends. Both are good tools too. Many a times, I research using Google trends too.

#2 – Collect

I believe this is one of the biggest obstacle for newbie. Driving traffic to your website. However, it’s really really simple, if you know how, or someone to show you step-by-step… right?

He talks about 2 ways to drive traffic, free and paid methods:

For free methods, he uses, Articles marketing, Videos, link directories, press release, joint venture, viral, blogs and social bookmarks.

For paid, he uses Pay Per Click, eZine, pay per subscribers and namecard.

After driving traffic to your website, then he talks about various kinds of capture page, pop-up websites and etc. These are various method you can capture subscribers.

#3 – Convert

To convert the subscribers to buyers, this is the 2nd biggest challenge to newbie. I feel that most newbie was too anxious, they keep sending out offers, till their subscribers run away. To me, giving value to my subscribers is my utmost importance. Earning your trust is important, and building a friendship is next. Only with that, then you know who I am, and whether whatever I introduce would strongly benefit you to help you make money online or just pure *BS*.

So, if you are reading this right now, and wonder why nobody in my list buys. Think again…

There are many ways to convert subscribers into buyers. He uses the autoresponders, upsell page, one-time offers and also membership sites.

That’s the main point in Joel presentation and I totally love it.

Next is Joe Girard! This man is the World’s No. 1 Greatest Salesman, and he sells cars till he becomes the No. 1 Car Salesman in Guinness Book Record. I have read his book many years back.

He got a total of 4 best-selling book. I only got 3 out of 4. I’m looking forward to get his 4th book today, but he’s not selling it at the event. Guess I have to order it online or buy from bookstore again.

One of the famous book is: “How To Sell Anything To Anyone”

One big takeaway is…

He truly love what he does. Not only that, why is he No. 1, is because he loves people. He actually tells you that “He Like You”, but send out well-wishes and greeting cards every month to your house. At one point, he’s sending out 16,000 cards every month to 16,000 household.

As long as you buy a car from him, you get his cards every month for life. Guess what he does in his cards, he have a referral program, where he offers you $50 cash if you bring your friend to buy car from him.

At one point, he got a right-hand man, and a left-hand man, to make calls and take down appointments for him. People literally queue up with ticket numbers, like going to see a doctor, and buy cars from him.

Can you imagine your prospect queue up in front of your office everyday with cash, just to wait for you to sell things to him? Who do you need to be to be that person?

People just love him…

That’s my biggest takeaway!

Not only that, he gives out his namecard all the time. Whenever he send out the cards, he would put at least 2 namecards, even thought that’s the 20th card so far. His philosophy is, you can help him to pass his namecard to your friends or family who’s thinking to buy a car.

And 98% of the people would, because he’s such a nice guy!

3rd Speaker is Adam Ginberg.

I have not heard about him until today. He’s famous for selling over $20 millions on eBay! He’s a eBay guy, and talks everything about eBay.

One big eye-opener today is that, eBay, is one of the most profitable market on the internet. Of course, I know about eBay. What I use eBay for is to do market research, get traffic from it to build my subscribers and that’s about it.

Adam open my eyes to the next level on the huge huge potential on eBay. Do you know that you can buy and sell properties on eBay?

Yes! Real estate, lands, house, and even houses with tenants in it. People actually buys and sell real estate on eBay. And you can make profits from $2,000 – $10,000 in 90 minutes. Now that’s something…

Of course, one thing I learn is that, the next time, before I throw away my thrash, I will definately considering selling on eBay. One example he gave…

A guy who buys a bottle of perfume $29, after finishing the entire bottle of perfume, he sold on eBay that “empty” bottle for… guess?

Blair Singers is one the Rich Dad Advisors to Robert Kiyosaki and his team. They are friends of over 25 years. Today, Blair was talking about how he and Robert met in Hawaii itself. Blair is in sales, and he have 2 best-selling book, Sales Dog and ABC of Building a Winning Team.

On the sales part, what I love is the concepts he teaches:

1) Sales = Income (This is none other than true! It’s the same as your online business too)
2) Let your lifestyle determine your income, rather than your income determine your lifestyle.
3) Surround yourself with people who will “kick” your butt. (That’s what I need too)
4) Little Voice Management System (Totally love this to “stop” your little voice)
5) He also shows the 5 steps process to a sale

I have listened to Blair the 3rd time running now over the years. Each and every time, I learn something new, and I apply, I learn something new and I apply. The next guy I love is Steve Linder. This guy is really amazing. Google him, and you will find lots of informations about him. And his story is from a waiter to a business owner almost instantly, just by shifting his mindset. He work with Tony Robbins for the past 10+ years, volunteering on most of his seminars.

Because he have so much money that he does not needs it. He speaks, coach and help business because he loves it and not because he needs the money. That’s awesome!

Steve in into NLP, and he’s the trainer of the master trainer of NLP. He shares a lot about the human mind and how to manage it well. He’s talks about Neuro-programming which all of us needs.

So, I’m giving myself at least 20 mins per day to practice on my skills. Since it’s a new skills, I need to make time for it to become a 2nd habit and be part of my life.

Total of 6 speakers, in 2 days event. For the price of ticket I pay, it’s totally worth it. As you are reading this, I’m at the event LIVE listening and improving myself again.

The speakers I love to hear most is Joe Girard. He have a total of 4 best selling book, I only got 3, and couldn’t finish the entire collection with the 4th one. So, you can bet that I will get the 4th book in the seminar itself. I hope he bring enough for the 3,000 crowd.

The next speaker I love to learn from is T Harv Eker. Even though I have attended 2 of his best selling seminar, Millionaire Mind Intensive and Life Directions… I still love to listen to him again. This man, when he is on stage, he can take in crowds in thousands… and people would rush to get his products, because he always and always give lots of value.

I’m applying what I learn from him, in terms of offering lots of value in my products and services. End of may, I’m going for his famous 5 days, Guerrilla Marketing Seminar. I look forward to double or even triple my business, and enhance my entire sales and marketing system for both my web and online business.
